Ibiza Airport is the only airport that serves the Balearic Islands for Formentera and Ibiza. Like any other airports, it also has a number of seasonal and year-round domestic and international flights. The airport is located approximately 7 km to the southwest of Ibiza Town. It is also located in nearby San Jose, as well as a number of famous towns and villages. With the island being one of the most popular tourist destinations, it is only safe to say that the airport serves as an important gateway for visitors looking to spend some time in sandy beaches and clubs, as well as family and historical attractions.
From Ibiza Town, you can take the PM-801 road westbound and just turn southbound towards the E20 or Ibiza-Airport motorway. This road should take you directly to the airport. The total driving time is estimated at 10 minutes.

Ibiza Airport Arrivals
The airport’s arrivals area is located on the ground floor of the terminal. After disembarking from the plane, make sure to check the signs and follow them so you can get to the Passport Control (if needed) and to the baggage reclaim hall and Customs.

You are required to pass the Passport Control after disembarking, most especially if the flight came from a country outside the Schengen area.
Baggage Reclaim
There are signs that will help you get to the baggage reclaim hall after disembarking. If you have a check-in luggage at the airport you came from, make sure to look at the screens in order to identify which baggage reclaim carousel your flight is assigned to. Customs
If you are coming from a country outside the European Union, you must determine if the goods you carry must be declared. From there, simply go through the airport Customs. Products that need to be declared include, but not limited to, money of over 10,000 euros, high-value gadgets or electronics, and food.

If you have hand and checked-in luggage, it is ideal that you arrive at the airport with enough time in order to prevent unexpected issues or problems from happening. A general rule of thumb is to allow at least 2 hours prior to your flight departure time.
Checking in Online
Most airlines give passengers the ability to check in online directly on their respective websites before traveling to the airport. After you have checked in, you will obtain a boarding pass, which is meant to allow you to go directly to the security checkpoints. Note that this is only allowed if you are traveling with a carry-on luggage only. Remember to always print all travel documents, from boarding pass to e-ticket, among others. Security Checks

Smoking in Ibiza airport is only permitted in designated areas outside the terminal. Meaning, you will not find any smoking facility inside the airport. If you want to puff, you have to go outside and look for signs indicating a smoking area.
